The 2022 Authenticity is both velvety plush and seriously structured, revealing layers of dark chocolate, black cherry, leather, graphite, roasted game, sagebrush, and black licorice. These flavors swirl around a pronounced mineral core, while firm chalky tannins build from mid to back palate.

Block B

Syrah • 2022

The 2022 Block B charges into the nose with brooding intensity bringing black olive, roasted meat, iodine, and creosote, then pivots with the grace of a dancer into lifted notes of candied violets, blackberry compote, rosemary, bay, and a flicker of camphor. Bright acid, minerals, and chalk-dust tannins take center stage, yielding a wine of contrast and tension that is sure to become even more compelling with cellar age.

Ingenuity

GSM • 2022

The nose leads with earthy tar, winter leaves, black cherry, roasted meat, and charred herbs. The wine tells a complete story as you taste, seemingly burly at first, but then it opens in the glass to reveal a broad palate wrapped in powerful, long tannins with seamlessly integrated acid.

Mourvèdre

Mourvèdre • 2022

The 2022 vintage offers a vibrant and unexpectedly fruit-forward expression of Mourvèdre. Juicy blue and purple fruits mingle with resinous coastal herbs and a subtle touch of stone fruit, lending an intriguing twist to this normally brooding variety. As the wine opens, notes of darker berries, licorice, wet stone, and fresh-cut herbs add depth and nuance.

Rhône Blend • 2017

Layered aromas of raspberry preserves, mocha, and dark-chocolate-covered cherries evolve into abundant scents of cinnamon spice, cedar grove, and cranberry sauce as the wine warms. On the palate, lush flavors of crème brûlée, figs, and Christmas spice are followed by long and structured tannins that leave you with flavors of barrel-aged brandy and spicy buttered rum on the finish.

The Statesman

Bordeaux Blend • 2022

Only the second bottling of Epoch's Bordeaux blend, 2022 The Statesman comes from very low-yielding, head-trained vines. Tightly wound at first and needing a good decant or time in bottle to open, this wine speaks fluent Cabernet with notes of plum, red currant, cherry leather, tobacco, cigar box, cedar, and forest floor, accented by hints of Christmas spice and evergreen.

York Mountain Viognier

Viognier • 2024

Aromatically exuberant, the 2024 York Mountain Viognier leaps from the glass with layers of bosq pear, honeysuckle, sweet cream, and baking spices and is dotted with accents of mandarin oil, yellow nectarine, and herbal blossoms. In contrast to its rich perfume, the palate surprises with a delicate energy; racy, lemon-driven acidity combines with wet-stone minerality to keep the wine lively and vibrant.

Zinfandel

Zinfandel • 2022

Epoch's 2022 Zinfandel is a testament to how well-adapted this grape is to the limestone soils and climate of West Paso. It carries layers of blackberry and huckleberry bramble, bay laurel, black pepper, smoked meat, and a streak of naval orange zest that arcs through both aromas and flavors. The palate unfolds with generous fruit, achieving a lively balance in which acid plays the lead.
